She knows the most likely end result is it’s over. She doesn’t truly know it’s over or not. I could think of a million possibilities that could be the real situation. A family member died. Stress at work. Some other kind of drama in his life that distracted him and made him take a step back from her for no reason that has to do with her.
The point is…when there is no closure, you’re going on probabilities. To be smart, and protect yourself, it’s better to just cut and run anytime the odds are looking bad. But this also results in some missed opportunities for the situations that could have been salvaged.
With closure you know for sure and this makes it easier to move on.
