Dishonest with good motivations…sounds a lot like the end justifying the means.
What about honest with good motivations, or do you still think that’s selfish? Otherwise, the solution, as I said above, is to examine your motives, not to try to clean them up with lies, which is like washing your window with a grease-covered rag — you obscure more than you illuminate.
